Daily Prompt: Elicit

My response to the daily prompt titled Elicit which asks;

Write a new post in response to today’s one-word prompt.

The only time I hear the word elicit or read something with it in is in the phrase “elicit a response” which is precisely what the Daily Prompt is trying to do to me here.

Does anyone else hate it when you are talking to someone and they aren’t very informative with their responses, everything they say is all rather ambiguous and vague , not really telling you a damn thing so you have to play 20 questions with them trying to elicit more out of them? Conversations are a two-way thing, you have to give me something to work with!

These are the same people who then say you are boring and not easy to talk to which is just so wrong and infuriating. Maybe if you replied with more than two words every time we could have a better conversation and it wouldn’t turn into a bloody interrogation!

I hate those people so much. If you don’t want to talk just say so. Let’s not waste both of our time.

Of course I do also hate it when people ask me a series of questions trying to elicit information out of me but, and it’s a big one, I can at least hold a conversation and not give two-word replies.
