Daily Prompt: Shape Up or Ship Out

Today’s daily prompt is called Shape Up or Ship Out and it asks;

Write a letter to the personality trait you like least, convincing it to shape up or ship out. Be as threatening, theatrical, or thoroughly charming as is necessary to get the job done.

How does one write a letter to a personality trait?

Do all instances of a particular personality trait live at the same address? Or is there like a block of flats and in each flat lives a different personality trait? What is the address of this personality trait?

How would a personality trait shape up? Surely that would be the personality trait changing what it is, which would mean it is no longer that personality trait, what affect would that have?

Why must the personality trait change? Why can’t you change to suit the personality trait? Maybe the fault isn’t with the personality trait but with you instead and you are taking your anger and frustration out on the personality trait.

I think I’ve made my point very clear.
