Today’s daily prompt is called Ripped from the Headlines! and it asks;
Head to your favorite online news source. Pick an article with a headline that grabs you. Now, write a short story based on the article.
I saw a brilliant headline earlier today that read – ‘They really DO think they’ve got money to burn!’ in relation to the left wing “protests” currently going on in Greece about the country being you know bankrupt and devoid of money and saw them try to burn down the central bank.
The whole scenario is hilarious. Our country has no money so let’s burn down the central bank which house’s the little money we do actually have and ignore the fact that we will have to pay to rebuild it. Idiots.
Maybe I’m too much a cynic (which after some of the stuff my local council have said to me in recent weeks over an ongoing dispute it’s hard not to be) but what do these people think this will actually achieve? If they just want to burn it down for the sake of it because they are angry and they think it will make them feel better then I can understand that, just don’t try to make out it is for some great moral cause.
