Today’s daily prompt is called The Happy Wanderer and it asks;
What’s your travel style? Are you itinerary and schedule driven, needing to have every step mapped out in advance or are you content to arrive without a plan and let happenstance be your guide?
I’d say I’m somewhere in the middle. If I’ve travelled to a place it is most likely because there is something there I want to see or visit, like a museum, an ancient/historical site, sporting event, you know something unique to that place, otherwise what’s the point in going?
So I’ve travelled to this place to see this particular thing, I’m going to schedule a time to go and see it. If it is a sporting event you really need to plan for it, if it is a museum well you need to plan for when it is open, get there early so you can spend the whole day looking around it. You can’t just rock up at like 11pm at night because you’ve let happenstance be your guide that day and expect to get in. It doesn’t work that way.
Once you are there however you could discover something you really like that you didn’t know about before you arrived so it is nice to have free time to be able to explore and enjoy that which you can’t do if you have planned and scheduled every minute of your holiday.
Best thing to do, plan/schedule a free day. That way you cover both bases. Simple really.
