Today’s daily prompt is called Local Flavor and it asks;
Write a piece about a typically “local” experience from where you come from as though it’s an entry in a travel guide.
A typically local experience? I don’t think there is anything in my local area that other area’s don’t have. I’m on the edge of London, all the cool stuff get’s put in central London which I wouldn’t say is typically local.
My area has the usual shopping centre, high street, restaurants, and train station that basically every other major area has.
When you think about it that is actually quite depressing that most local areas now are just carbon copies of other areas.
The only unique things places seem to have now are historical landmarks like castles and churches. Everything else is the same. They even have the same shops.
Bring back local character!
