Todays daily prompt is called Shaken and Stirred and it asks;
What’s the most elaborate, complicated meal you’ve ever cooked? Was it a triumph for the ages, or a colossal fiasco? Give us the behind-the-scenes story (pictures are welcome, of course).
Well this is a bit of a funny coincidence. We’ve been thinking about doing more food related stuff on this blog and are planning to start a feature called Food Fridays, every Friday we plan to cook a meal (suggestions, hints, and tips are very very welcome) take a couple of pictures of the various stages and post up a step-by-step guide with our thoughts so that you can all try it at home.
On to the prompt. The most complicated meal I’ve cooked might be the homemade pizza’s (which you can check out here) we made a couple of weeks ago simply because we made them from scratch including the dough.
Most meals I’ve cooked in the past are simply putting the thing on the tray and then shoving them in the oven for however minutes they need and then taking them out. Not exactly difficult.
Whereas actually going through the time and effort to make it all from scratch, chop up all the ingredients, leaving the dough to rise made those pizzas just taste all that better.
They were truly a triumph for the ages. Just thinking about them makes me want to make them again…
