Daily Prompt: Oil, Meet Water

Todays daily prompt is called Oil, Meet Water and it asks;

Of the people who are close to you, who is the person most unlike you? What makes it possible for you to get along?

Most unlike me? Everyone I know is unlike me in some way, but that goes for everyone. No two people are identical. Well OK identical twins are but the clues in the name there.

The second part is easier to answer than the first part. The thing that makes it possible to get along is having common ground and some similar interests. Doesn’t have to be a lot, just a couple, but thats all that is required.

Most of my close friends aren’t into football but I am (quite a lot hence why I have a second blog just for football) but I have some friends not as close who are into football but we don’t have a great deal in common beyond that.

So yeah common ground and similar interests. Pretty simple really.

  1. Well, 92% of peeps close to me are unlike me.

    I get along with them because I made a choice to. If I get close to folks just because they are like me then I will be alone….forever. lol

    I feel it will also get boring (at some point), it will be like hanging out with my clones; cool but not very satisfying.

    Also, no one person knows it all, there is definitely something they know that I don’t; most of what I have come to know today, most of my experiences, most of my sweet memories happened with fellas most unlike me.

    I like the fact that they diversify the relationship. Sometimes its not so palatable, at other times I just enjoy the differences. Plus we influence each other this way, I learn stuffs from them and they take on most of me.

    Its a good bargain *wink*wink*
